2007 1/2

So, half way through the year and it seems like nothing has happened yet! this sucks! What with the floods up here in yorkshire, very little riding has gone on. I'm desperate to do another SNE dvd and mike and I want to tour Scotland for a week. Any other takers, get a car prepared.

I'm sure everyone has ridden Corby!? good fun park as long as no one puts the overloud music on. USE HEADPHONES YOU BASTARDS!!! ahem. . . I'd recommend using breaks there too, I jumped the two rhythmns and went to jump the volcano near the box but too late, i realised it was the mellowest, smallest spine in the world. Consequently, I flew over it with way too much speed, about 8 feet above the flat concrete and bailed. My ankes and knees are now fucked. Beware. . .

Just bought a KHE Reverse Freecoaster so i'll be putting up pics and a review sometime next week.

Leeds is quiet now so if anyone wants to come ride, we have Burnley, Works, upton, Hyde and Warrington within an afternoon's range. Come up.

Lowestoft

Between Norwich and Ipswich (East Coast Y'all) is a little town called Lowestoft, which is where my missus lives.  It has a very nice clean sandy beach, and a few pubs and clubs, but not a lot else.  The town about 10 miles away however, Great Yarmouth, has a lot of pointless touristy shops, a lot of promenade type crap, and a very nice indoor skatepark.. £3 all day, and empty!

26.06.2006

So in the last month we've seen various Pros from far and wide visit the confines of Hyde Park Skatepark. Corey Martinez, Ryan Metro, Mike Ardelleen, Dean Hearne, Ian Morris, Max Geartig, Ashley Charles and the rest of the German We The People team. Some amazing riding has been going down. But Still, Dan is making everyone jealous by airing stupidly high... Come to Leeds and ride. I've just got a new camera too so should be some pics up soon.

I have a Vandero/big city wheel for sale too. 40 squid.

14.06.2006

A Few weeks ago, Ed and Mike popped up to Leeds - heres a few pics. I have no memory left on my computer (waiting for an external hard drive) so two of the pics are uncropped and a bit kak...
I had my RAF selection this week..... I passed everything for every position they have going, then failed an eye test. apparently, i'm slightly short sighted in my right eye, which is news to me. So that was all that stopped me becoming a pilot. so gutted. I can still fire Miniguns out of helicopters though, so we'll see.
Hope everyone is cool.

Spring Jam 06

The spring jam ruled! With little or no organisation on most peoples parts it wasnt the most sorted of events, with the weather being shady around the time, but through word of mouth mostly by rich, loads of people turned up. BBQ an sound system went off without a hitch an rich's commentating was over the top but a change from rickys.. an other than ross blowing up a speaker and mark turning about 6 burgers into burnt sludge it was all gravy baby. Riding was ridiculous all day, the pix below tell all...

Hi everyone! There will be a spring Jam hosted at the Iffley/Meadow Lane Skatepark on the weekend of 1st April 2006! Make your way down for a good days riding! I'm sure there will be food and drink in one form or another, with the odd prize for this and that! No doubt a visit to the pub will follow! Hope to see you all there.

I have plenty of DVDs now burned and ready for posting if anyone wants one.

Mike has had his brakeless red standard stolen! Keep an eye out, this is the second time the bastards have taken a bike of his, it's starting to take the piss...

Weekend away..

Yep the insurance was paid for an i was ready to hit up somewhere other than the local nibbles in the new automobile, so saturday mornin i de-iced the 306 and headed round to webbys house.  Bikes popped in the back no problem an on to epic we went.  Using a sat-nav i borrowed from work it only took about an hour to get to epic, an the 1.4 managed about 110mph down the m40 so everything was goin good... rode there all day, with a brief hello to matt fairburn who was sessioning the vert as usual.  he learnt opposite 1-foot tables that day also.  Knackered, we hopped back in the car, which decided not to start.  I only stuck a £55 battery in it the other day, so it wasnt that.. an after a local guy called steve who happened to be a car mechanic of 30 years experience had a look at it with no idea, it was time to call the AA.  £105 out of my account later he turned up, poked around a bit and said ' hands up, i aint got a fuckin clue'.  So i locked the car up an hit the bar.. Some while later paul jones turned up, did a few flairs and then joined us in the bar.  We knew we werent gunna get bak the same day, but webby wanted to sleep in the car. in minus 10 degrees c. fuck that. so paul, being an absolute legend drove us around birmingham centre, pimping out the window of his '92 white dirty as shit astra estate until we found a hotel.  about an hour later we found 1 available, only £45 for the nite.  webby had the top bunk an i had the double bed, sweet as fook.  next mornin we went bak to epic, got sum brekkie an foned sketchy pete.  pete is a full member of the RAC.  pete came up to birmingham, and called the RAC out to have a look.  Meanwhile old skool mark turned up for a ride, and being a qualified mechanic had a look at the car - no power to the crank sensor, a dodgy connection to the fuse box and no live feed to the coil.  The RAC turned up and had a look, and then reckoned it would take a qualified automotive electrician, charging £28 an hour about 3 days to find the fault.. christ i only paid £200 for the thing.  So while pete kinda blagged that it was his car, the rac called a tow lorry who turned up to pik the car up.  The lorry driver, although a bit strange (webb will vouch for this) didnt seem to care that i wasnt a member of the RAC, and didnt care that i'd kinda blagged his services.  My mate luke who owns a garage picked the car up from my house later that night and it now resembles a baked bean can...

and heres a blinged up xk... sick ride>?? midlife crisis>?? you decide..

and my mate rob's 306, one that actually works, under that £22,000 of mods

Seenoevil DVD

Hello everyone. The Seenoevil DVD entiteled "KISS", is 99% finished. The DVD menus are built up and running. Unfortunately an alternative soundtrack could not be drummed up due to lack of interest on my part.

I am currently working on a Box cover so the film will not be available to buy until 1st of March 2006. If anyone has any footage they would like to see on a Bonus footage section, send it to me quick!

If you would like a copy of this DVD when it is done, let me know on the guestbook so i can buy the right amount of discs etc. Dont want to be left with loads of spares. The price will be £10 per copy, hopefully including a sticker or two.

Dvd Details:

Main Movie, Scene select, Extras.        Extras: Bonus footage, Slideshow 1, (waiting for MP's slideshow 2 + Rankin's bonus footage section.)

Scenes: Intro, Oxford-Grove-Thame, Interlude, Spain 05, UK Spots, Randomness, Outro, Credits.  About 30 minutes long plus 10 mins of extras.

Oxford News 19/01/06

First ride in a while was an evening street mission with Rich, Pipe, Lima an this grove skater dude... same old crusing round oxford shit, lima 360'd the Said building steps which was pretty ill as it was goofy or sumat... rich got the puncture this time, i guess there arent that many kerbs around the trails... no photos unfortunatley, its too much effort in the day let alone in the dark in sum of the shady spots we ride in.  Saturday's sposed to be gd weather - hit it yo!   -   Ed.

No photos but i thought this was pretty funny...  OBP SAVAGE LIFE!     its not a bad album...

Oxford News 14/01/06

As any of you who bothered to get out of bed this mornin may have noticed, it's shitty weather.  England delivers again.. However having stole the new fly dvd off OBP a few days ago, and woke up to find livin' in exile and voices had turned up, i've been pretty sorted all day. holla. So heres a quick review...

To start off, webby reckons the fly dvd is shit.  I think its rad - but it just reminds me of barca, which was fukkin amazing.  The fact we met half of the fly team in barca as well means its jus like watchin people u no ride.  They aint just pro's, theyre nice guys. The 3amigos section is rad and the pallet section at the beginning is jokes - ul have to watch it.

Livin' in exile is nuts - seth kimbrough rips everything and rooftop section rules also.  Sergio's section i have to say is better than his part section with ruben on the fly vid - all kinds of crazy shit.  Nigel and Blackman from NYC rip and danny hickerson does some stupid whips - gimme a holla if u fancy checkin this. Good little Winklemann tribute also.

And lastly to Voices - Joe Cox's new dvd of the northen monkeys. This rocks. Joe himself can arguably nose wheely better than stevie hamilton or bob scerbo - mike il send this ur way, ul crap urself.  Barspin madness, its drivin me nuts.  Crazy kids from up there doin wot they do best.. props to joe and  the northern monkeys.  only a tenner!

Well next time its dry, be it my day off next week or at 3 am tomorrow nite im gunna hit the streets.. sesh on...

03.01.2006

Below is my new Profile / Odyssey wheel. The Hub has a Ti driver and Hollow cromo axle. This is the new axle released by profile and is Very hollow, there is hardly anything to it! it weighs in at a fraction over the weight of the titanium variant. It's quite an expensive upgrade too and it's un-tried and un-tested at the moment so fingers crossed that it holds up. The Hub is 36h Tangerine Profile Minihub on an Odyssey 7K Rim - the nicest, smoothest wheel I have ever used, worth every penny. It worked out 60 quid cheaper out here in Hong Kong! Odyssey Ti Pegs are only $330 / 24 quid! Rumour has it that ODY have stopped making their Ti pegs... I bought a pair!

Hello everyone, This Update comes from Hong Kong. I decided to do the whole 'Happy New Year' thing a wee bit earlier as I may not be awake for much of the first of Jan 06...
I hope everyone has a killer party planned and has an awseome 2006. This year should be better than last for SNE. I'm building contacts in China already and in talks with people about building a prototype frame. Hong Kong has been good to me, I have a local BMX shop run by Rex Lau, www.xdreambmx.com and have a Local skatepark 'Mei Foo'. Look out for pics in future.
I've met some cool riders out here and we're already trying to plan a Shanghai trip in march. Life is going well.
I hope the same can be said for all the people I left behind back in the UK, I miss you guys. Stay safe and keep riding - You're all welcome out here whenever

- Alex

If you are stupid enough to live in a cave... or in Hong Kong, you may have missed the new Ride.  It has a Mark Webb interview.  Its pretty nuts.  The top tube of his shiny new green frame has some nice SEENOEVIL stickers on it.  In fact there is a SEENOEVIL sticker on the front page of the new Ride.  Now we could put Mark on the team page an send him loads of stuff an get him to come to our jams and tell  lots of people he knows around the world of bmx about us.  Or we could just be like 'here have sum stickers, if anyone asks about the company, tell them to phone the Star'.   Yeh that'd do fuk it.  Pro or not, hes a joker.

um....

spot the sticker yo ^

spot the sticker yo ^

One o' them wrong way backflips! ^

Also in the new ride is Dave Cotton of winchester and 'alex's mate that turns up at iffley an bombs around goin high a lot' fame, doing a big drop onto a dodgy bodged landing not made of much... Is he doing it for charity?  Is he taking a shortcut to work? Did some joker give him dodgy directions on the way back from motion? Is this the only way to get out of his newly aquired flat? Is this the fire service's best idea of saving him from a burning building?  Answers on the guestbook...

Merry Christmas boys and girls, Wuhaaahaaa!!!

OX 22/12/05

went to scrut slow today, had a smoke and waited for it to dry out. good sesh, only bmxer as usual, 4 random fruitbooters turn up and impress for a change. local pikey kids moaning about the cold, so start a fire right next to the park, they end up putting a can of deoderent onto it and when it fianally went off, bit flew past me at the other end of the park! they were foolish enough to still be huddled round it at the time and one got a sizable fragment to the leg! I love the vibe down at cutteslowe, always something funny gwaning, felt like a music festival today, drinking smoking and feeling haggard, with smoke blowing across till dark.     Go and ride! the winter doesnt have to stop ya!!! also Merry Christmas to all the SNE MSD crews, friends and Ox locals.

The new Seventies Set-up - DEC 05

20.12.2005

Hello everyone. Hong Kong is treating me very well though I do miss home. Not had a chance to ride yet but I'm going to my local park tomorrow weather permitting. I'll get a few picks if I can get hold of a camera (kind of helps...). Below are a few more angles of the New Skatepark in Shanghai, China. It's very cheap to get there from Hong Kong so I'll go when I can, thing is, it's, on average, about -2 degrees there at the moment!!! So i'll have to await better weather. Start saving for summer travels! Time for a world tour!

Dec 17th News

Yes you saw it.. iffley is dry!  Went down there at lunchtime, met webby talking to amanda.  Amanda was popping to cowley centre and asked if anyone wanted anything. As she was riding off webby shouts, 'a coffee!'  An hour later amanda returns with a nice hot cup of coffee... she is priceless!   Newayz, Rob turned up (having had a haircut) to get sum bits an bobs off webby, and Frank rolled in for a few airs, as did mossy, popping out 2 back to back air to chings! 3 Amigos Frames and Ruben pedals - Flybikes

Webby has the yellow Frame  and I've just got a 21" / 13.75 grey one with light pink stickers. These are very nice frames indeed!

Below are the new Ruben pedals - Flybikes - £80 ouch!!! very solid looking magnesium pedals. Maybe one day.

Further below is an Idea I have of running a back and front brake with one lever.

- Alex

I spoke to George French of G-sport about this brake idea and here are his thoughts:

"There are two basic problems.

1. The first brake to touch the rim will take the lion's share of the
braking force. Inevitably one brake WILL grab fractionally before the other
so you will always have this problem to some degree or other.
2. Even if you could get a reasonable split between the two (or make a brake
balancer to do it for you) then you will still have to split your work
between the two brakes (so halving your braking power)

However that doesnt necessarily mean you shouldnt have a play with it".

G.

I'd love to give this a try. If anyone has any ideas on how to cast two cables together like the drawing, let me know

- Alex

Err Umm Today

Yeah so Motion was sick as fook!!!. worlds bigest midi ramp! good spine. by the time i got there mossy had already had a pint! (12:30) empty ramps lots of fun! Nickjoo took it, unlucky, D bail. Birthday boy, Alex A arrived in the hire car, cant remember what it was, so must have been shit. Lunch, catch up and a few, and we are back on. Props have to go out at this point to Ed, smothest spine runs, so good to watch! I must also mention  that motion had Blazing D+B on the system all day, and although not for everyone, i was happy.    Hospital BOY!!! how funny! Jack had a Ice ching in, so we got another drink! Webby arrived with the baby sick ( i think its a cool colour) and preceded to fuf the sub, all good shit! Laughter, 12 year old rippers, lima 360's! pipe, liam, matt jones and friends turned up, ripped the place and went yeard again, some local on a red bike ally opped the width of the 9'! by this point it was getting on for 9pm, time for some to have a last few before heading home and for us to think about pre club drinks. really good food at Motion bar/resterant, cheap and pukka. Loyd turned up on the company blag, haha, and together with pete, AA, OPB, and myself, we headed for the Achademy. Well most of the rest of the night is cencored, surfice to say, we got proper rowdy!
In conclusion, store rooms make good night nests, hangovers are best solved walking in the rain and Fuck great western train!
SEE NO EVIL
see you all there in January?

23 years ago today, I was born... How odd is that??!! I still remember running arond my house with a toy M16 shooting all my friends on my 4th Birthday, some 19 years ago. (some things never change...) Time bloody flies. I'm getting old, into the years when i actually have to watch what i eat and start becoming a bit more responsible for my life. Life begins here. I have interviews for an airline on January 10th 2006 and so will be leaving for Hong kong as soon as the 20th December. I could be away for up to 2 1/2 years. Seenoevil will never Die. I will be scoping out manufactures in the Far east and will, with a better income, begin working on Parts to rival the best! Things will only get better!

I will be taking care of a clothing order next week so If anyone wants anything, let me know. I'll be doing a batch of hoodies, a few bags and t-shirts. A new 'Stars' logo batch will be done too.

We may seenoevil some changes soon, for while I am away, regarding clothes orders and profits - i will speak to the appropriate people in Bristol soon over a pint or nine.

See you all soon fellas!!

Sunday was rad - booked the day off work and myself and mike went to epic in birmingham.  After ridin about for a bit, having got out of the station a different exit to last time, we found our route, and hit the skatepark.  Pretty busy bust most of the riders were nibblers so was not too bad.  Paddy and Glyn turned up a little while later, as did Pete a while after them. They now have a cafe area similar to motions, so we stopped in for a pizza and a pint before returning to the mayhem of the park.  Pete took the pix below, as me n mike were too busy riding to b fucked to organise pik taking - thanks to pete for that!!

Slightly late update, ive bin workin a lot as nobodys around during the day to ride (mike got a job.....of sorts), so just myself and mossy hitting town saturday for sum street nibbling.  OWP meeting went well, with a subcommittee being set up to sort out a media presentation for the council to view, and hopefully sort us a grant! Last week myself and nikjoo went street riding with pipe an roscoe! in true trails-boy style, pipe just had to look at a kerb and he got a puncture, but it was getting cold newayz, so we forgive him..

Sunny day so went to hit sum cutteslowe - a few puddles but not bad.  However the latest bit of inspiration to have hit the local pikeys is to dash a can of black paint / tar over one of the corner hips, and then cover it in sand and gravel, making the place fucking rank... stops the skaters goin near it, but looks like sum1 had burnt out a moped and the council had cleaned it up an put a load of sand down (which quite possibly couldve happened as well).  Will get a pic next time i pop down there.  Stay tuned for pix of the brookes massive secret trails...

It was wet today so couldnt even hit cutteslowe, so made some random adverts, one of which is on the homepage, and a couple more are pictured below. What you can do with just paint and publisher is pretty good.

Very slack saturday session today, with myself, mike, nikjoo and mossy going down the rampz, and doin very little except sit about an chat.  Mossy'd painted his frame, and had to get new cranks coz he cracked his profiles to bits hammering them off the axle..smooth.  Bike looks nice though, and im off to Morocco tomorrow morning so il see y'all in a weeks time! rad.

Oxford News 18/10/05

Hi lads, Ed here reporting on our recent trip to motion skatepark.  Myself, mike and alex got there at about 12, meeting webby and warren who for some reason had decided to get an earlier train, and first impressions were amazing.  Nice chilled bar area and eating place, with sofas and ride mags for everyone. Turned out Gusset Chris (remember him?) works there now, so we got him off his shift and into the park to hit the ramps! As you can see from the pix, its pretty plush and real smooth.. the subbox rocks, with the gash street nibbles being the only real disappointment. The place rules, and we'll see you there on Alex's birthday!  www.motionramppark.com
